This sculpture of an elephant is carved of alabaster and has polymorphic on the surface. The sculpture had extensive water damage that blanched the paint. Examination under white light and ultra-violet radiation indicated the paint was still present and the blanching might be reversed. Careful testing and treatment successfully restored much of the paint without additional paint applied.
